Conducts analytical analysis of food samples. Plans, coordinates and conducts sample preparation, and data collection and analysis utilizing advanced liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Performs independent analysis of literature, assists with development of appropriate experimental designs and approaches. Evaluates data and assist in data interpretation and preparation of scientific reports for sponsoring agencies and companies. Manages routine operation of laboratory, such as chemical inventory, ordering, and safety procedures. Provides technical assistance and training of personnel in equipment use. Maintains analytical equipment (GC and LC platforms) and assists with troubleshooting. this position is a part of FREC – Flavor Research and Education Center.
