The State Authorization Team in the Office of Distance Education and eLearning seeks and maintains compliance with state and federal regulations impacting Ohio State educational activities offered across state lines. Compliance with these regulations furthers the university’s mission to expand access and affordability of Ohio State programs and to increase student success. — Under the supervision of the State Authorization Program Manager, the State Authorization Intern will assist the team in meeting state professional licensing board requirements and National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement policies.
The individual in this role will assist with researching relevant professional licensing board regulations in U.S. states for licensure programs offered at Ohio State. The State Authorization Intern may also assist with research regarding national licensing board standards or requirements. This individual will correspond with professional licensure boards, document research in a shared file system, maintain state authorization webpages, and complete administrative tasks. The State Authorization Intern may also complete other projects related to compliance with distance education regulations as assigned.
The successful candidate will independently complete tasks and have the ability to organize complex information. The State Authorization Intern will learn about distance education regulations as well as university policies and processes. This individual will have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate research, writing, and communication skills while gaining a broad understanding of higher education compliance strategies.
