Position Description

Harvard Divinity School seeks to appoint an adjunct instructor/lecturer for Graeca, a course that will meet every other week over the two semesters of Fall 2019 and Spring 2020.

The course has the primary goal of reviewing Greek grammar and syntax through selected readings appropriate to the interest of doctoral students in the study of New Testament and Early Christianity. The instructor should also be able to place the selected texts in their literary and historical contexts.

The course must be open and accessible to the Divinity School’s diverse and multi-religious student body. The appointment title will depend on the finalist’s qualifications.

Basic Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications:

  1. completed advanced degree (PhD or ABD candidates preferred),
  2. prior experience teaching at the graduate level, and
  3. sensibility to a multi-religious, diverse student body. Publications in the field are desirable, though not required.
