The Auxiliaries & Activities Business Center is seeking a Finance Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Business Center Manager.
The Auxiliaries & Activities Business Center (AABC) was created to help serve the financial, accounting, human resources, and administrative needs of OSU’s auxiliary and student fee-based units. Those units are as follows: University Housing and Dining Services, Intercollegiate Athletics, Student Affairs, University Conference Services, Public Safety, Memorial Union, Recreational Sports, Student Health Services, Printing and Mailing Services, University Facilities Infrastructure and Operations, Student Media, and Counseling & Psychological Services.
The goal of AABC is to provide our units with an enhanced level of service and expertise in core administrative services. On a daily basis, AABC employees work to uphold the five core values of AABC: providing quality customer service, striving for operational excellence, being employee focused, championing ideas & innovation, and thinking and acting in a strategic/visionary manner. We strive to exemplify, through actions and practices, the philosophy and values of the Oregon State University; maintain the highest degree of employee professionalism and data confidentiality; ensure accuracy and timeliness in all work since errors and delays impact units’ budgets, vendor payments, and employee pay; continually document and improve processes and support on-going quality improvement activities; and pursue a high level of training and continuing professional development.
As a key member of the AABC team, this position primarily serves the following AABC units: University Housing and Dining Services, Intercollegiate Athletics, University Conference Services, Public Safety, Printing and Mailing Services, University Facilities Infrastructure and Operations, and Student Affairs.
This position assigns and participates in analyzing, planning, interpreting, and reviewing of the fiscal operations of the supported units. With the help of their team, the position will have broad managerial oversight over the following AABC financial/accounting areas: transaction monitoring, transaction approvals, unit reporting, unit budgeting/forecasting, and unit fiscal analysis. The Finance Coordinator and the employees on their team will use advanced accounting theory to perform such functions as accounting, budgeting/forecasting, and reporting in support of the operations of the units assigned, with special focus on streamlining the reporting and input functions. This position also provides campus wide support in development and implementation of policies and procedures and plays a critical role by providing highly complex fiscal functions, analysis, projections, interpretation of policy, budget management, and financial solutions to departments/units.
