To provide daily oversight of personnel and activities and oversee all department functions on behalf of or in the absence of the director. To direct the planning, operations and support of the department on behalf of or in the absence of the director; ensure institutional compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies and procedures, as required by federal regulations and institutional policies; perform administrative review of proposals and disclosures to determine if conflicts exist; develop and design programs, including the design of a campus-wide, in-house, online course required by regulations and institutional policy and an electronic questionnaire; and assume a leadership role in the development of policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility, in consultation with other departmental personnel and the director. To serve as appointed alternate, voting member of the Conflict of Interest Board; support members of the Conflict of Interest Review Board, including providing opinions and advice on policies and procedures, carrying out Board actions, managing retrospective reviews, assignment of reviews/annual compliance monitoring, training members in Integrated Research Administration Portal (IRAP) protocol, and plan and prepare for meetings; serve as a liaison between organization, federal agencies, and internal personnel; implement and communicate organizational policies regarding any potential financial conflicts of interest of personnel; provide problem resolution assistance for staff and develop and implement departmental goals and objectives; hire employees and temporary staff, manage human resource (HR) issues, prepare job reclassifications, training, and provide problem resolution assistance for staff; and attend meetings and oversee major/special projects on behalf of or in the absence of the director.

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience required. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
The ideal candidate would have a strong research and compliance background and excellent computer skills. Previous IRAP and familiarity using databases is an asset.
