Background -  

The successful applicant is required to contribute to teaching and laboratory training of existing organic chemistry, natural products chemistry, medicinal chemistry and biological chemistry courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as to develop new courses and programs relevant to the discipline and the society. Appointee is required to supervise student research leading to award of M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Appointee would undertake high quality research at an international level of excellence in a relevant area of Organic Chemistry/Natural Products Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry.

The appointee is expected to interact and strengthen current research in the School in other areas of chemistry as well, addressing to local, regional and global challenges. The appointee must have an ability to interact with and stimulate the interests of students. The appointee is expected to provide academic leadership and, where relevant, assume a significant academic management or administrative role as directed.

Person Specification

Essential 

• PhD in the area of Organic Chemistry
•   Quality research publications in the core areas of organic synthesis and reactions and/or transformations of natural or medicinal organic compounds.

• Demonstrates evidence of ongoing publications in ranked journals

Salary Base salary of $56,942.00 plus 10% superannuation
