ITS overview

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides corporate IT services to ANU staff, students and visitors in support of achieving excellence in research, teaching and public policy. These services include network, communications, computing platforms, data storage, desktop and mobile access, enterprise systems, student learning environments, and IT security. The work of ITS is coordinated with services provided within and by University Colleges and other Service Divisions to form a cohesive, University-wide information services infrastructure.

Position overview

The Junior Business Analyst is responsible for the provision of business analysis services including, but not limited to, analysis, design, documentation and training related to University applications; undertaking feasibility studies; defining and managing solution scope; developing business cases/project proposals and driving and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and benefits management.

The role is central to aligning business requirements with information technology. As such, the occupant of the role will be responsible for developing effective, customer focused working relationships and work proactively in identifying and understanding requirements, developing optimised solutions, effectively communicating and presenting/documenting these solutions.

To be successful in this position you will need experience in the investigation of user requirements and translation into functional specifications. You need to possess experience in analysis and problem solving. You will be flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing professional environment, and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a client-focused position.

Junior Business Analysts will be required to work across a range of business transformation projects with a significant technical element.
