The School of Physiology, Pharmacology & Neuroscience is looking for an ED&I & Athena SWAN Officer to develop, promote and lead on ED&I activity within the School and embed these principles within the School Culture. This role will also be responsible for managing the production of our Athena SWAN Award renewal submissions, under the supervision of an academic lead.

You will be proactive in ensuring the School considers all areas of ED&I in its everyday operations and lead on initiatives for good practice.

The Athena SWAN Charter encourages and recognises an organisations commitment to advancing the careers of Woman in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEM), and the School is aiming to achieve a Silver status with the next submission in Summer 2019.

You will play a key role in managing the Athena SWAN project work, and in supporting the Academic Lead, School Manager and relevant ED&I Committee in their endeavours.

As part of this, you will make a major contribution to writing and producing the written submission. This will involve researching and compiling evidence of the Schools work towards the objectives of Athena SWAN which includes writing case studies, documenting the impact of actions and policies, and analysing, interpreting and providing commentaries on staff and student data.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the University Community to develop initiatives within the school and co ordinate and plan the work of the School ED&I/SWAN Self Assessment Team
You will have project management experience or equivalent, excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with experience in writing formal project documentation and in using Excel and the associated tools. You will evidence working independently, have experience of working to tight deadlines, be proactive in time management and demonstrate initiative.
