The Transregional Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 248 “Foundations of Perspicuous Software Systems” at TU Dresden invites applications for two positions as 

Research Associate / PhD Student / Postdoc in the field of Trusted Computing
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L) 

starting as soon as possible. The positions are fixed-term to 31st of December 2022. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed-Term Research Contracts Act (WissZeitVG). The positions aim at obtaining further academic qualification (e.g. PhD/habilitation thesis). Balancing family and career is an important issue. The posts are basically suitable for candidates seeking part-time employment. A part-time employment with 50%of the full time weekly hours is possible. 

The Computer Science CRC 248 lays the scientific foundations for the cyber-physical systems of the future, enabling them to explain their functionality and behaviour (so-called Perspicuous Systems). We are researching a foundational and applicable theory of explications for all facets of system behaviour, as well as visual and verbal explanation methods for diverse user groups. As a member of the Interactive Media Lab Dresden you will be part of a successful team of experienced researchers of diverse backgrounds. You will work in the vibrant scientific environment of the CRC/TR 248 and TU Dresden, one of the leading German research universities. Dresden is a city highly worth living in with a rich cultural life and beautiful nature. 

Tasks: Independent research in the field of the chair, especially in the field of Trusted Computing. In this context, the main research areas include the development of software components within and focus on the use of perspicuity in the context of dependable systems. It will investigate fundamental tools and techniques to improve the understanding and mitigation of erroneous system behaviors as well as to investigate/ verify an approach to improve the dependability of systems with the help of diverse replicas. The development, publication and presentation of scientific publications at national and international conferences as well as journals are expected. 

Requirements: very good university degree (M.Sc., Dipl.), and if applicable a PhD, in Computer Science or related fields, strong skills in distributed systems, Secure data management; good knowledge of distributed algorithms; practical experience in dealing with different programming languages and concepts; ability to work independently and purposefully in a team; interest in interdisciplinary cooperation in all areas of computer science as well as with industrial partners; fluency in English-written and oral; an integrative and cooperative personality with excellent communication and social skills; high engagement. Previous experience in the field of Trusted Computing is beneficial.
