Since 1850, St Mary’s mission has been to provide a high quality professional environment, inspired by its distinctive ethos and values. The University is an inclusive academic community, where everybody is welcomed.

St Mary’s is on an exciting journey of transformation,  putting in place new organisational structures that will drive our ambitions for growth, whilst maintaining the student experience at the heart of all we do. As the University builds on its proud heritage, we are looking for exceptional people to help shape its progressive future.

We are seeking to recruit a Lead HR Partner to join our friendly and high-performing HR team. The HR team works in partnership with a diverse range of departments and employees across the University. In everything we do, we champion a culture of excellence and inclusivity.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a small partner team and deliver solutions to complex operational cases and also build rewarding relationships with senior managers to support the strategic delivery of our corporate plan. The new People Strategy and HR Plan will further enhance the profile of the HR team and grow your own skills and knowledge in key HR areas such as transformation, policy development, talent management, employee engagement, people development and employee relations.

We are seeking applications from commercially focused HR generalist professionals who can bring their professional experience, knowledge and ambition to make a difference to the employee experience at St Mary’s. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to successfully influence and negotiate with your stakeholders. This this is also a great opportunity to work in a rapidly changing sector which functions in an increasingly competitive and commercial marketplace.

The HR team work across two sites; attractive, open plan offices next to Twickenham station and from the beautiful St Mary’s University campus in Teddington.
