Teaching assignments are on a 9-month contract for a 1.0 FTE load of 15 credit hours per semester. The instructor will develop and supervise off campus job sites to further develop students’ hands-on skills. Develop, revise and update curriculum in collaboration with the department faculty and director or chair. May develop and teach online courses. Instruct, support, advise and provide timely feedback to students in accordance with NMSU policies and procedures. Additional duties include; advising students, professional development, curricular enhancement, institutional governance and community service and other duties as assigned.
Requires GB2 or GB98 License and OSHA Certifications
The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to the community college philosophy of education.
First aid and CPR Preferred (able to obtain after hire)
Community College teaching experience at the freshman and sophomore levels is also preferred.
Will have knowledge of innovative, creative teaching and learning methodologies for high school students.
Will have experience with media, evolving instructional technologies, and distance learning programs and delivery.
