Program Assistant II
Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory, is seeking candidates for a Program Assistant II. Ames Laboratory is contracted to Iowa State University and is located in Ames, IA.
The Program Assistant assists with maintaining a variety of records within the Ames Laboratory accounting department. This includes the accurate and timely billing of costs for Materials Preparation Center (MPC), nonfederal, and intra-DOE transaction agreements, assisting external receivables clients in providing advance payments and following up with customers on past-due invoices. In addition to reconciling bank/letter of credit information, the Program Assistant II also acts as a resource to back-up to the travel accountant in a variety of support roles.
The successful candidate must be analytical, innovative, professional, organized, have strong written and verbal communication skills and work well alone and as a member of a team. Knowledge of banking processes, and the ability to communicate with a diverse group of staff, students and the general public regarding procedures, rules, and Federal regulations are also required to be successful in this position. The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
