Laboratory Manager

This two-year Laboratory Manager position in the laboratory of Professor Beatriz Rico is funded by the Wellcome Trust and will provide a key role in a project investigating the assembly and organisation of inhibitory networks in the cerebral cortex. 

The Centre for Developmental Neurobiology world-leading in the field of developmental neuroscience and is situated in central London. The project requires a multidisciplinary neuroscientific approach encompassing developmental neurobiology, molecular biology, biochemistry and behaviour.

The main duty of the post holder will be to provide logistics, organisational and technical support for the team. We are seeking someone who can work under their own initiative, adaptable, efficient and with a keen interest in the project. Candidates should have a degree in biological sciences or similar and previous work experience in a research laboratory.

Previous experience in histology, cell biology and molecular biology experience are essential, while experience with microscopy and mouse work would be desirable, including holding a personal licence to work with mice. Management and communication skills will also be positively evaluated. The candidate will benefit from training in a vibrant and collaborative research environment.

This post will be offered on a fixed term basis, 24 months
