Would you like to be a key member of a significant strategic improvement programme: Student Lifecycle Support Programme (SLSP)?

The University of Bristol have initiated SLSP to create user-friendly systems and a seamless administrative framework to support both staff and students. You will be a responsible for the implementation of new and existing data integrations between our new student system and many other University systems. This involves extensive analysis of existing code bases to determine requirements, whilst understanding and incorporating the competing constraints of various stakeholders.

Extensive knowledge of both Java and SQL are equally required for this work, but the successful candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to quickly familiarise themselves with any appropriate technology or programming language, working alongside other colleagues and adhering to appropriate development standards.

You must have significant experience of developing secure applications using Java technologies and of writing and tuning SQL queries.

You must be able to work well both as a member of a team and under your own initiative. The ability to communicate fluently and to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential.

The roles are offered on a fixed term basis until the end of September 2020, initially.

The closing date for applications is midnight on Monday 27th May 2019. For informal enquiries, please contact Rupert Madden-Abbott (Rupert.Madden-Abbott@bristol.ac.uk), Senior Systems Developer.

We appreciate and value difference, seeking to attract, develop and retain a diverse mix of talented people that will contribute to the overall success of Bristol and help maintain our position as one of the world’s leading universities.
