Occ Summary

APA Approved Internship in Clinical and Counseling Psychology utilizing an integrated multidisciplinary model in the delivery of a comprehensive range of psychological services to the University student community.

Work Performed

The psychology internship includes training in: Psychotherapy and personal counseling; Career counseling; Developmental and Outreach Programming; Vocational/Personality assessment; Campus consultation. Modalities of intervention include individuals, couples, and group. Interns participate in the development and leadership of workshops and developmental programs that assist students in areas such as: Career and life planning; Interpersonal communication; Eating disorders; Diversity and identity development; Stress management. The internship is coordinated and supervised by licensed psychologists.

Education

Applicants must be degree candidates in either Clinical psychology or Counseling Psychology, and have a major interest in working with a young adult population. All course work for the doctorate should be completed.

Experience

A minimum of one year of supervised practicum experience prior to the internship is required.
