About the Job
Due to internal promotion a rare leadership opportunity has arisen within the University of South Australia’s Library division. The Library supports the University’s teaching learning and research mission through the provision of relevant information resources and associated support services. Access to Library resources and services is both virtual, anywhere, anytime and any device. Via physical Libraries at City East, City West, Magill and Mawson Lakes.
Operating in an environment of increasing demand for digital information services the Library has a rapidly growing electronic collection of books and journals with over 700,000 eBooks and online journals as well as print resources and special collections. The Library has implemented an innovative “Ask the Library” service to provide support to the University’s staff and students wherever they are.
Reporting to the Deputy Director Library Services and as a member of the Library leadership team, the Manager is responsible for leading the provision of quality information services to support the University’s teaching and research activities. The position provides the opportunity to drive innovation and continuous improvement in the delivery of teaching and learning content consistent with the University’s priorities and strategic directions.
Skills and Experience
The Manager, Library Services contributes to the development of the University’s Library strategy and service delivery and leads and develops a campus based library team to deliver exceptional library and information services and resources. We therefore seek an experienced leadership professional with extensive experience leading and developing teams in a comparably complex environment and proven success in continuously driving initiatives to enhance delivery of teaching and learning and research support services.
A contemporary working knowledge and understanding of library trends relevant to teaching and learning and the impact on the customer experience is important.

This position will be appointed at a HEO9 level (base salary range $114,312 - $118,314). In addition a generous superannuation contribution of up to 17% may apply.
