Description

Under limited supervision, models excellent customer service in providing leadership and work direction to front desk support employees. Greets patients, inputs and/or verifies patient information, enters patient treatment plans, responds to patient inquiries and schedules/ confirms patient appointments to maximize clinic space. Performs financial functions (prepare daily deposits, review financial responsibility with patients, monitor aged debit/credit reports) and provides administrative support. Performs other related duties to assist in the management of the department. Plans and oversees the workload of front desk support employees. Serves as the first line resource for staff questions and resolves more complex issues
Patient Registration
Greet Patients
Patient Intake collecting and/or verifying patient information
Scheduling and Confirming Appointments
Monitor schedule to ensure maximum patient appointments
Manage phone queue
Respond to patient inquiries
Enter approved patient treatment plan into patient record
Financial
Insurance Intake/Verification
Take point of service collections
Apply appropriate payments/ adjustments to patient accounts
Process prior insurance authorizations
Review financial responsibility with patients
Prepare daily deposits
Monitor aged debit/credit balance reports
Leadership/Supervision
Responsible for planning, overseeing, and managing the workload for support staff.
Effectively serve as the first line resource for questions from the team of staff.
Participate in the recruitment and interviewing of new staff.
Responsible for training new staff and ensuring the individuals understand the processes and protocols of the clinic operation.
Performance Management
Provide feedback to individual staff as to how to improve performance.
Assist manager with annual performance plans for the staff.
Identify strengths and areas of improvement and offer ways to support the growth of the individuals.
Administrative Support
Maintain patient electronic records
Manage medical record requests
Collaborate with Providers to run clinic operations
Participates in regular team meetings
Answer phone inquiries

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years) and 5+ years of job related experience.
Excellent knowledge of dental/medical software, codes, Microsoft Office and dental terminology. Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Dental Coder Certification preferred.
Experience leading and overseeing the work of others preferred 3-5 years related experience
