Analyze and evaluate various sources of clinical and financial data in support of clinical service lines to reduce costs, improve quality and further the goals and objectives of hospital administration.
Coordinate collection, interpretation and analyses of clinical and financial data to respond to proposals for new products, services and/or programs; identify and validate sources of data to include, but not limited to, medical records, financial data, competitor data, patient volumes, benchmark data from other institutions, utilization and T-1 data. Develop and produce reports that monitor and benchmark cost, utilization and other quality and performance indicators; develop and prepare financial feasibility studies for new initiatives generated by clinical programs. Assist project teams in the design and implementation of care paths, utilization reduction, cost containment and development of standards; identify new products and recommend pricing based on market conditions and cost analyses. Assist in the ongoing evaluation of products, programs and/or clinical initiatives; recommend modifications and corrective actions to existing practices as appropriate. Maintain liaison with Duke University Medical Center physicians, administrators, hospital departments, third party payors and clinical personnel to facilitate progress of clinical service line programs and objectives. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
