The University of Bristol Estates Office is responsible for providing efficient, effective and compliant building and engineering services across all University buildings whether owned or leased.

The University Estate covers three main areas - the Main Clifton Campus together with the Langford and Stoke Bishop sites.

This position sits within the Estates Unit of Facilities Management - Hard Services. As well as delivering upgrade and refurbishment projects, the group delivers all planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, compliance and capital maintenance work.

The main job responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking building condition surveys and collation of the survey outcomes into distinct projects.
  • Project management, which will range from small refurbishments to large projects up to the value of £750k, and will take place in a diverse range of locations and building types throughout the Estate.
  • Control projects from conception to handover to include feasibility studies, option appraisal, detailed design, tender, managing construction on site, budget management, handover and final occupation.
  • Projects to be delivered will predominantly relate to alteration, upgrade and refurbishments schemes requested and funded by the Academic Faculties and associated schools. There will, however, be some support and cross-over input to the Capital Maintenance programme being delivered by other members of the Estates design team.

You will liaise closely with Surveyors and Engineers to deliver Faculty driven project work as well as assisting with the development of capital maintenance work programme.
