In recognition of the University’s drive and commitment towards apprenticeships, UCB have recently launched a dedicated apprenticeship department comprising a number of varied roles, tasked with working together to grow and develop our provision and build relationships with employers.

As a result of this growth, we are now seeking to appoint an Apprenticeship Services Team Leader, who will be responsible for guiding a small team to achieve operational objectives in line with UCB’s apprenticeship strategy. The successful candidate will ensure collaborative working with direct colleagues and across the University’s four Schools, to achieve funding agency compliance throughout the employer and apprenticeship journey.

Previous experience in an apprenticeship-related role is required, enhanced by experience of leading a team, delivering agreed targets and objectives, and building productive professional relationships with a range of stakeholders. This will be supported by sound communication and organisation skills, and the ability to use the IT tools and systems available to ensure the effective running of the service.

It is expected that the successful candidate will demonstrate a record of relevant professional development and solid knowledge of apprenticeship funding and ESFA compliance requirements.

Staff benefits include 38 days’ paid leave per year, excellent staff development opportunities, pension scheme and a private healthcare policy.

Note for applicants:

All applicants for employment at the University will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Safeguarding and the PREVENT agenda in the context of further and higher education.

For further information on this position, and the wider apprenticeship team, contact the Director of Apprenticeships, Gail Tipper on 0121 604 1000 ext. 2565.
