Professional Development Centre

Location:  Lincoln
Salary:   From £38,460 per annum
This post is full time.
Closing Date:   Monday 10 June 2019
Interview Date:   Friday 28 June 2019

The Professional Development Centre is situated within the College of Social Science at the University of Lincoln.  Its role is to develop, manage and deliver a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and bespoke stand - alone CPD programmes in the areas of Health and Social Care, (including Postgraduate Medicine),  Social Work, Psychology, Education, Law and Social & Political Science.  In addition, the Centre also conducts applied Research / Evaluation and consultancy activity in the same areas.

A recent review of the Centre established a requirement for a Senior Lecturer to provide a coordination and academic programme management role; to lead on academic quality assurance and  positive student experience;  to liaise with academic staff within the wider university and to be a point of contact for external regulatory bodies regarding accreditation of professional programmes.   We are therefore looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced  individual at senior lecturer level  who will have  responsibility for the academic development, quality and management of a suite of academic programmes within the Centre, and who will liaise with internal and external stakeholders in the development, accreditation  delivery and monitoring  of  these programmes.   The successful candidate will become a member of the Professional Development Centre’s Management Group.

This is an exciting opportunity for an academic who wishes to move into a more senior position and who is looking for a role with a high degree of flexibility and considerable autonomy.  The role actively promotes interprofessional and inter - sectoral collaboration and development.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent professional experience,  and a recognised HE teaching qualification (or will be prepared to obtain such a qualification).   It is important that the successful candidate has experience of the development, commissioning or management of  postgraduate programmes and / or stand - alone bespoke CPD programmes.  Experience of academic QA procedures  would be highly desirable, as would experience of collaborative working across sectors or disciplines.

To discuss this role, please contact Dr Adrian Carr, Director of the Professional Development Centre on 01522 886876 acarr@lincoln.ac.uk
