Under supervision of a Board Certified Physician, to augment the primary health care physician's ability to provide medical services in a specialized or general patient area by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, conducting professional consultations, ordering and scheduling laboratory studies, and prescribing medications as outlined in physician approved protocol.
This position is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to work for the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at UAB Hospital. The APP will work rotating 12-hr night shifts and rotating weekends & holidays. The APP's responsibilities will be to provide medical care and treatment for patients admitted to the Medical ICU and Lung Transplant services. The position entails the evaluation & management of critically ill patients, performing procedures within the defined specialty scope of practice and coordinating the care of the patients. The APP will see patients, transcribe notes, perform health histories, diagnose, manage, and institute emergency measures & treatments.
Annual Salary Range: $76,960 - $126,984

Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners required.
