Responsible for coordinating and/or administering certain clinical and patient services and for performing administrative duties in support of physician staff and operations. Responsible for the conduct of patient scheduling. Coordinates outpatient scheduling and facilitates in-patient pre-certification and admitting processes as necessary. Serves as an advocate for patient and patient family assisting patients and patient families with obtaining services and assistance available within the University or Birmingham community. Answers patient and patient family inquiries verbally or in writing. Assists in resolving patient problems. Follows up with patients and patient families regarding post-treatment/post-operative status. May supervise clerical staff.

Position specific duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

Acts as a liaison between patients, medical staff, department administration and billing.

Creates, implements, and maintains clinic billing processes related to clinic revenue operations.

Review and clean up of aging accounts receivable spindown.

Provides support and insight to all clinics billing processes.

Monitors clinical revenue for assigned clinics.

Serves as an integral member of new clinic setup/conversion team on assigned new businesses.

Supervises clerical and billing staff regarding work assignments, office operations and patient billing.

Perform other duties as assigned.

$34,278.40 - $53,934.40

Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

Ideal candidate will have knowledge of CPT and IDC-10 codes. Experience with Medicaid billing strongly preferred.
