Functions as the human resource contact for a large department or subdivision of the University in coordination with the Office of Human Resources. Selects applicants during the employment process and/or typically has ongoing management of two or more FTEs as a primary duty. Administers human resource policies that cover two or more functional areas such as employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits or training. Serves as front-line advisor to department administrators regarding human resource issues. Acts as liaison between the assigned department and the Office of Human Resources for all academic and non-academic human resource related matters. Ensures departmental compliance with University human resource policies and procedures. May recruit faculty and act as faculty relations liaison.

Responsibilities:

Provides human resource services to large division within the Department of Medicine.

Administers human resource policies covering functional areas including staff/faculty recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training.

Advises division administrator and faculty regarding human resource issues and needs.

Serves as liaison between division, department, school, and Office of Human Resources.

Ensures divisional compliance with university human resource policies and procedures.

Responsible for interpreting HR policies and guidelines.

Disseminates information to division supervisors, managers, and employees.

Annual Salary Range: $47,486.4 - $74,484.8

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) preferred.
