Job Details

The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering at Northumbria University has particular strengths in advanced energy materials and renewable energy systems. This is evidenced by the recent award of an EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Renewable Energy Northeast Universities (ReNU). We are currently seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer within the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering to perform excellent research and teaching across the full portfolio of the Department. In addition, you will fulfil the role of Centre Manager for ReNU for the duration of the grant period. We are particularly seeking high-quality applications from candidates who will align to the scope of the ReNU in advanced materials and systems for small-to-medium scale renewable energy and sustainable distributed energy. The role will involve contributing to all aspects of the delivery of ReNU including doctoral candidate training, leading engagement with industry, liaising with the Institution Directors and membership of the Management Committee. You will also be expected to apply your subject expertise by performing individual and collaborative research resulting in high quality outputs and external research funding. Successful candidates will be selected according to the excellence of their research profile and potential to deliver the CDT in ReNU successfully.
