The Early Start initiative is focused on creating educational programs, experiences and networks that enrich the way we understand and interact with children, families and communities. The initiative aims to give children the best possible start in life and is particularly focused on bringing about better outcomes for children from regional, rural, remote and disadvantaged communities.

The Education & Experience Coordinator will develop and implement education programs and experiences within the Discovery Space. This will involve development and evaluation of school excursions, public programs, including school holiday workshops, and delivering new encounters and experiences for the Discovery Space floor along with other Education & Experience Coordinators. The coordinator will train Education Officers in the delivery of the various programs as well as delivering programs, as required.

The role entails working with early childhood, primary school and professionals working with children and families to promote and develop Discovery Space utilisation within the community. The Education & Experience Coordinator will have a shared responsibility for coordinating safety and risk management within the Discovery Space, ensuring best practice is in place, risks are minimised and safety of both staff and visitors is ensured.
