The University of Lincoln delivers catering in house and provides a range of high quality services to circa 15,000 students and staff. The Catering Team is looking to develop and enhance its offer in line with its strategy for unique, local and sustainable services. The team currently operate nine units across the campus as well as providing a quality hospitality service for staff and external corporate clients. The Pier Cafe and mobile offer will increase the number of outlets to eleven with another two being developed.
Reporting the Deputy Catering Manager (Operations) the Cafe Manager/Head of Coffee is a key role which will develop, launch and manage our new Pier Cafe serving our bespoke 94 Degrees blend and roast of coffee and reinforce our food offer in terms of quality and provenance.
The role requires an experienced Barista/ manager with a passion for all things coffee and espresso based. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate an interest in food and show they can deliver exemplary service to the customers using the cafe. The role will also be responsible for coffee standards on campus and Barista training in all Foodlinc outlets on campus.
We want someone to take our coffee service to another level and for the right person there will be the chance to enter the TUCO Barista championships and other competitions. This is an exciting and challenging full time role that requires a flexible approach to working as the unit will trade seven days a week from early until late in term.
As part of our interview process all shortlisted candidates will undertake a series of practical tests so you can demonstrate your skills and knowledge about coffee, customer service and of course latte art.
