HEAD OF FINANCIAL REPORTING AND OPERATIONAL RISKMIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo), to act as a key leader within the operations team and chair the Valuation Committee.  Will be responsible for financial reporting for investments in MIT’s annual Treasurer’s Report and its ERISA Plans, and for the issuance of financial statements for MIT’s special purpose investing entities.  Will also coordinate, monitor, and assess operational risk; work closely with members of the global investment staff (GIS) by contributing to the external manager underwriting process, assisting the GIS with structuring incentive fees, and evaluating external manager operational risk; serve as a key contributor in resolving tax and other possible investment structuring concerns, working with MITIMCo’s legal and portfolio operations teams; and work with various department heads to collaborate with them on implementing MITIMCo’s external vendor due diligence program. 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED B.S. in accounting, finance, or related field; ten years’ experience in asset management accounting, both liquid and illiquid strategies; familiarity with derivative strategies to capture market exposure; experience supporting or advising on performance calculations and leading or managing strategic organizational matters; expert-level knowledge of GAAP accounting requirements and tax rules as they apply to investment companies and private fund structures; excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, managerial, leadership, and communication skills; experience managing performance reporting; excellent problem solving skills for resolving ambiguous, complex, and multi-variable problems; ability to organize and manage multiple projects and prioritize competing needs; strong Microsoft Office skills; and keen judgment.  CPA strongly preferred.  Understanding of real estate operating and development activities a plus.  Job #17446-12
