Closing date for applications 09-Jun-2019
We seek one or more Earth or physical scientists with PhD or postdoc experience in at least two of: fluid-dynamic laboratory experiments, permeability measurement, X-ray tomography, and modelling of multiphase flow in porous media. The candidate will use (or collaborate with others who use) these techniques to understand the storage and migration of volatile phases in magma mushes, with application to volcanic eruptions and formation of ore deposits. The results will provide inputs into large-scale numerical models of magmatic systems developed by collaborators in a multidisciplinary consortium.
Funding is available until 30/04/2021, and we will look to recruit one or more candidates. We are able to offer flexibility in terms of start date and working hours and these will be discussed with the successful candidate(s) on appointment. You will be hired at Research Associate or Senior Research Associate, depending on experience.
