We are offering exciting lecturing opportunities within Computer Science, Security, Databases and Machine Learning. We are seeking to fill a number of Computer Science lecturer posts. As well as those with a good grounding and breadth of knowledge across the Computer Science discipline, we are particularly keen to hear from those with expertise in one or more of the following sub-disciplines:

  • Security (penetration-testing/intrusion detection, ethical hacking, information security); 
  • Graphics/Games/User experience;
  • Networking/IoT; 
  • Systems Analysis and Design;
  • Systems Programming; 
  • Distributed Systems; 
  • Operating Systems; 
  • Distributed Databases; 
  • Cloud computing.  

As a successful applicant you will contribute to the existing strength of the Department of Computing & Technology. You will have a record of success within the field relating to scholarship, professional practice or research in Computer Science/IT. You will continue to develop this profile after you join the department.  The department has research strengths in Interactive Systems, Computational Intelligence, Cognitive Robotics, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things and Smart Infrastructures, with active research groups breaking new ground in these fields. 

You will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, being capable of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students across our portfolio of courses within the Computing & Technology department. You will also be an inspiring educator, interested in creating engaging learning experiences. You should be ready to play a defining role in the further development of our Information Technology, Computer Systems and Computer Science courses, and be able to make a significant contribution to our ambitious agenda for delivering innovative, industry-focused education.

A second building, due for completion in 2019, will support interdisciplinary activities across computer science, engineering and business to address the challenges of Industry 4.0.
