Overview

Edith Cowan University is a large, multi-campus institution serving communities nationally and internationally. ECU is Australia’s top public university for teaching quality and has been ranked number 6 in the world for Gender Equality. The University has two metropolitan campuses at Mount Lawley and Joondalup, and also serves Western Australia’s South West Region from a campus at Bunbury, 200 km south of Perth.

The University is seeking to appoint an experienced, highly organised and professional Executive Officer with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated capacity for initiative and problem-solving.

This role reports directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships) and Vice-President, providing support to a broad range of complex portfolios: institutional and professional accreditations (including gender equality); political engagement; honorary awards; industry partnerships and strategic new initiative development.

This exciting role provides highly professional, comprehensive and confidential executive and administrative support and assistance to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships) and Vice-President to fulfil her requirements and objectives for the University.

The Executive Officer also undertakes special projects as requested by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategic Partnerships) and Vice-President, including but not limited to, research and analysis, communications with stakeholders, progress monitoring and preparation of reports.

Key Criteria

To be successful you will have experience in a similar executive support role and will demonstrate: 

  • a thorough understanding of, and excellence in, the practices, systems and procedures of providing executive support, particularly a systematic approach to managing a demanding schedule and travel;
  • the ability to work in a confidential environment; 
  • excellent organisational skills and a measured and considered approach;  and
  • the ability to exercise sound judgement and operate with tact and discretion.

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $79,757 TO $86,176 pa (HEW 6) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
