The University of New South Wales (UNSW) invites Research Fellows to apply for a position in the Gonski Institute for Education-Growing up Digital Project.

The Research Fellow positions will play an important role in managing the GIE Growing Up Digital Australia (GUDOz) project and have qualifications and experience in quantitative research methods, including data collection, surveys and analysis. GUDOz seeks to understand how the widespread use of technology is impacting Australian children.

This project is currently being undertaken by the University of Alberta and Harvard Medical School. The Gonski Institute will join this crucial worldwide study to ensure that policymakers have access to local data to inform future educational policies. The Research Fellow will also make intellectual contributions to GIE, as well as have the capacity to take on administrative responsibilities that are relevant to the undertaking and publication of research and grant application processes

  • Level B - A$105,108 - A$123,908 + 9.5% superannuation + leave loading
  • Full-time position (35 hours per week)
  • Fixed Term till 31 Dec 2019

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

  • Project management of GIE Growing Up Digital Australia (GUDOz).
  • Working with the Deputy Director – Research, using data collected from the research, develop policy papers, create submissions to Government, design Institute policy recommendations, undertake policy research in relation to the GUDOz project.
  • Prepare and publish research results in peer reviewed journals and present findings at national and/or international conferences, as appropriate.
  • Develop and contribute to ideas for new and related research projects and initiatives, working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Design and implement empirical studies, from conception through to ethics clearance, deployment and analysis.
  • Prepare research proposals for submission and submit applications for internal and external funding in accordance with agreed priorities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
