Role Description

Cranfield University is an exclusively postgraduate university that is a global leader for education and transformational research in technology and management.

Cranfield School of Management (SOM) is a leading provider of innovative, practical management education focused on the outcomes for learners and organisations. We are a world leader in research and education on leadership and management, delivering outstanding scholarship and excellent teaching through our distinctive academics and their direct engagement with practice.

The Director of MBA and DBA Marketing and Partnerships reports to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the School of Management. This is a high profile role with the post holder acting as the University’s ambassador at international and UK recruitment events and conferences, and in meeting senior company executives visiting the University, and within their organisations to make presentations, undertake interviews and position the University as a strategic partner and destination of choice for MBA and DBA learning.

The Director is responsible for setting the strategic direction of leading, managing, motivating and inspiring the Marketing and Recruitment Team members to deliver the elements of the working context of the department.

The Director will be expected to instigate and maintain high level internal and external relationships whilst developing new ones and contributing across all aspects of the student life cycle from recruitment and admissions through to alumni relations.

This role would suit an individual with strong facilitation, negotiating and influencing skills coupled with exceptional communications skills. A good understanding of the changing dynamics of the higher education market, specifically in relation to the MBA and DBA, will serve you well in this role.

You will ideally have an MBA and/or have worked closely on an equivalent MBA programme with relevant marketing experience. You will have significant experience and a proven track record in people management and leading a team. You will have previous experience of managing and controlling substantial budget/resources/funding and an understanding of financial management procedures.

At Cranfield, we value Diversity and Inclusion, and aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together harmoniously with dignity and respect and realise their full potential. We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and commit to exploring the possibilities for each role.

Interviews to be held:  21 and 25 June 2019
