To develop and implement strategies to ensure the success of alumni, parents/family, friends, faculty/staff and student campaign with an emphasis on alumni engagement and mid-level giving as an integral component of the University s overall institutional advancement program. To deliver strategic outreach efforts to alumni, parents/families of alumni and current students and friends of the University through strong communication, personal interaction and the organization and staffing of volunteer structures and events. To work closely with other departments to develop unique opportunities for engagement leading to targeted solicitations to benefit the University. To work closely with members of the University Development Office and other University personnel to translate the University s mission and goals into measurable achievements in engagement, fundraising and the overall general advancement of UAB. To achieve established and objective measurements.

Develop a comprehensive giving program focused on securing Mid-Level gifts ($5,000 -- $24,999) by maximizing relationships with alumni, parents and friends. Make assessment and cultivation/solicitation visits to constituents and document the result of those discussions in relationship/database management system. Where appropriate, arrange for meetings between these constituents and University Leadership.

Responsibilities to include:

Implement best practices to engage alumni in lifelong progressive relationships with the University.

Promote a comprehensive understanding of the University's mission, goals and priorities and secure support for these initiatives through diverse opportunities for engagement and giving.

Working with the University's Annual Giving Office, build and maintain a strong comprehensive annual giving program including direct mail, email, phone and online campaigns and special events.

Manage and coordinate a comprehensive engagement and giving program focused on parents and families.Identify, recruit and cultivate volunteers; develop a close working relationship with volunteer leaders; and develop a vigorous, self-renewing volunteer leadership organization.

Plan and coordinate events when appropriate to support these efforts.

Participation in certain events, including some nights and weekends, will be required.

Work with other members of the University Advancement Services staff to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition.

Where appropriate, transition prospects to appropriate development officer for major gift cultivation and solicitation.

Correspond regularly via email, letter, phone and social media with alumni, students, parents, friends, faculty, staff and administration of the University in the planning and execution of various programs. Contribute written materials to be published through electronic newsletters, direct email, social media, print brochures and invitations, web pages and the alumni magazine.

Annual Salary Range: $47,486.40 - $74,484.80

Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Marketing or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
