The Department of Nutrition Sciences (DNS) is seeking applicants for the position underlying all administrative aspects of the academic programs in Nutrition Sciences. The Program Manager- SHP Programs supports all DNS Education Mission initiatives, including those of both undergraduate and multiple graduate programs, by serving as the liaison between the Education Mission, other entities of the DNS, the School of Health Professions, UAB Graduate School, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham at large, as well as external stakeholders, community members, prospective students, and program alumni. The Program Manager uses independent management and judgement to maintain the administrative responsibilities of the academic programs, in accordance with the requirements of internal and external accrediting agencies.
Under the general direction of a functional Program Director, this position administratively manage a program within the School of Health Professions.
To independently design, develop and administer program content for the assigned academic program.
To establish program objectives, maintain policies and procedures, serve as liaison between the program and external stakeholders and provide customer service to students, faculty and the UAB community.
To manage assigned program fiscal operations, develop and provide reports and/or analyses.
Annual Salary Range: $47,486.4 - $74,484.8
Bachelor s degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Successful candidates for this position should possess
Strengths in collaboration, teamwork, event planning, project management and data management and analysis.
The ability to effectively manage a wide variety of responsibilities is key to success in this role.
Intermediate to advanced skills in the use of software and technology to streamline operations and maintain a high level of personal proficiency are also essential.
The ability to develop and deliver presentations to report outcomes is essential.
Experience managing employees is preferred.
