A position is opening sometime between June and July for a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a position as an entry level research specialist. Work will involve completing experiments to quantify antibody levels against influenza viruses and other human viruses. Duties include serological assays, ELISAs, viral neutralization assays, molecular biology, RNA purification, RTPCR, and tissue culture. Previous experience with serological assays, molecular biology, and tissue culture preferred. More important than experience, the ideal candidate will be genuinely interested in science and want to learn.

A Bachelor’s Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior experience with, or fastpaced learning of, a broad range of virology and molecular biology laboratory techniques required. A strong interest in virology; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and desire to learn new techniques is required. Prior experience in a research laboratory is a plus.
