The Screen School at London College of Communication is looking to recruit a Course Leader to lead and manage academic delivery, development and student learning experience of the MA Television http://www.arts.ac.uk/lcc/courses/postgraduate/ma-television/ 

The MA Television course resides within the Film and Television programme portfolio that includes the BA (Hons) Film and Television, BA (Hons) Film Practice, BA (Hons) Live Events and Television Production, MA Film, MA Documentary Film, MA Screenwriting. In 2019-20, the programme will also introduce a BA (Hons) Film and Screen Studies and an Executive MBA for the Screen Industries.

The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to teaching as well as managing the pedagogic delivery, curriculum development, assessment, quality and recruitment.  The appointed candidate will work under the direction of the Programme Director and alongside the other course leaders to deliver the course, as well as contributing to School, College and University initiatives including research.

Your profile  

We are looking for a candidate with significant industry experience of factual programming and extensive knowledge of broadcast television in both professional and academic contexts. Your professional experience will include, script development, producing/directing, budgeting, multi-camera and single-camera operations.  You will have experience of producing a range of factual programmes for both television and other platforms, and the ability to engage students with the key historic and theoretical issues relating to television studies.

You will have engaged with the commissioning processes for television programming, and understand the ways in which successful programme proposals are developed.

You will have experience of offering constructive and timely feedback on the creative, technical and business aspects of the television production process, and be able to motivate students to think creatively, critically and carry their ideas into production. You will have demonstrated the ability to teach and mentor a diverse student population, and have built and maintained relationships with studios, networks, production companies and other organizations that provide students with opportunities for networking, collaboration, and employment. You will take an active role in student recruitment.

You will demonstrate excellent administrative, managerial and organisational skills relevant to the requirements of course delivery and development within an academic, research and professional context, actively engage with student recruitment and possess good interpersonal skills with ability to lead, manage and work alongside full and part time staff. You will have relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive practice in television production.
