We are looking for a candidate with expertise in one or more of the following areas: control strategies for electric drives, HIL fast control prototyping, condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of electrical machines, drives and inverters. Practical experience with power electronics, electrical machines and drives is desirable. Experience with electric drive/ inverter system analysis and circuit simulation is beneficial.

You will actively contribute to research groups or communities of practice internally, through the Inst. of FTC, and externally, assisting with bids and tenders for external projects or contracts. You will also be disseminating research outputs using a range of media and develop external networks nationally and internationally. Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, supported by evidence of contribution to appropriate outputs (high impact journal publications) is required. The applicant must have a PhD in relevant engineering discipline.

While the main focus of this post is on research, you will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do. You must be willing to work flexibly and promote and support international partnerships. The ability to demonstrate teaching experience at higher education level with evidence of successful student learning outcomes is beneficial.
