The Ohio State Enterprise Security team is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive cybersecurity program that enables and supports the management of information security risk for Ohio State’s information systems and assets. The Enterprise Security team looks for individuals who value partnership, trust, innovation and respect. We hold one another accountable for high, ethical and competent performance. Our strategic goals include partnering with the university community to facilitate an information risk aware culture, support university leaders to actively own their information security risks, and to introduce new capabilities; providing solutions which offer foundational information security capabilities, ease of use, and align to current and future university needs; ensuring timely incident and emerging threat response activities, and coordination between stakeholders.

We are seeking to hire a Security Engineer that will report to the Director of the Enterprise Security Awareness and Training team. The awareness and training team provides cybersecurity awareness and training to all members of the university community so they can make better decisions about how to protect themselves and the university.

Specifically, this position will be part of an innovative cybersecurity awareness and training team responsible for developing cybersecurity awareness and training materials covering complex information security systems, including security controls, processes and procedures; developing creative content in multiple media formats for our new security awareness incentive platform designed to increase user engagement and change risky cybersecurity behaviors through engaging content, interaction, self-interest, and incentives; delivering and facilitating cybersecurity awareness and training to users through multiple channels such as presentations, events, phishing simulations, web, mobile, social media and training workshops; reviewing and analyzing new technological advances in information security and providing awareness to users on important security concepts; providing awareness on legal and regulatory compliance requirements as needed; participating in research and development of new security technology, analysis and engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the development and delivery of innovative and engaging cybersecurity awareness content and training programs to users; be a creative thinker and writer; have the ability to distill technical concepts into understandable language; and be able to work in a collaborative setting managing multiple priorities and tasks.
