Student Financial Aid Advisor
The Student Financial Aid Advisor and Staff Assistant provides counseling and administrative assistance in the Verification, Certification and Awarding areas of the Student Financial Aid (SFA) office for undergraduates, graduate, professional students and other users regarding financial aid. This position serves as a liaison, counsels and responds to inquiries from other users such as extended campuses and professional school staff. Verifies eligibility for financial aid awarding. Awards and revises financial aid packages. Authorizes scholarships. Monitors student accounts to ensure financial aid awarding is accurate and follow up as needed. assures compliance federal and state regulations, in addition to university policies. Evaluates, processes, and/or certifies consortium agreements, private and university loans. Provides information and administrative support to staff in SFA, colleges, departments, and at extended campuses. Assists with orientations and presentations as needed. Assists with the development of policies and procedures related to verification, certification and awarding. Monitors reports and statistics. Researches and resolves problems from campus partners. Serves on committees and performs special duties and projects as assigned.
