Facilities Service Manager
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for maintaining and overseeing daily operations of the physical facilities for the Ohio Technology Consortium (OH-TECH) to include general knowledge of HVAC, electrical, fire suppression and building systems; responsible for maintaining consistent, high-quality, efficient, reliable, cost-effective and environmentally sound services for administrative, research and conference space; coordinates with property management to resolve building issues, schedule installations and routine maintenance; performs budget management to include purchases of facility-related equipment and supplies as needed, as well as occasional contractor acquisition, selection and management of contracted services; consults with management and oversees plans for improvements to facilities including the development of site plans, vendor management and project management; oversees maintenance of agency motor pool and manages parking procedures for visitor lots; coordinates with federal, state, local and university personnel on security measures including building access, alarms and cameras, as well as emergency preparedness, exercise development and business continuity; participates in job-related professional development; other duties as assigned. Position is often required to be available/accessible when not in the office and after normal working hours.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CULTURE: The Facilities Manager will report to the Director of Consortia Services at the Ohio Technology Consortium main office, located on Ohio State University’s West Campus. The Consortium functions as an umbrella organization for Ohio’s statewide technology infrastructure that includes: The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC), the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet), and the Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK). Funded by the Ohio General Assembly through the Ohio Department of Higher Education, OH-TECH reports to the Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education. All fiscal and legal services are provided by the Ohio State University, with direction from the Vice President of Research. OH-TECH propels Ohio’s knowledge economy through the creation and adoption of next-generation technology and information solutions. Internally, OH-TECH also provides advanced services to its member organizations through the efforts of staff in the areas of Shared Infrastructure, Fiscal Services, Communications and Human Resources.
