Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate in the laboratory of Professor Ajay Shah.
The post-holder will investigate the mechanisms underlying the cardiac stress responses during development of heart failure by utilizing genetically-engineered disease models, and a range of molecular, cell biological techniques and microscopy. In particular, the successful candidate will determine the relationship between mitochondrial function and cellular homeostasis under conditions of stress. Previous in vivo cardiac or vascular experience, experience in biochemical assays and cell/molecular biological assays is highly desirable.
The post is based within the School of Cardiovascular Medicine and Sciences at the James Black Centre (King's Denmark Hill campus) as part of the King's College London BHF Centre of Research Excellence. The BHF Centre provides an excellent highly multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for 6 months.
This is a full-time post - 100% full time equivalent
