Position Summary    

The School of Government & Public Policy is seeking a short term summer session teaching position from 07/01/19 through 08/25/19. This Adjunct Instructor position is part-time, non-tenure eligible, non-benefits eligible and will provide instruction in the area of International Relations and Interstate/Intrastate armed conflict around the world.

The School of Government & Public Policy (SGPP) was formed in 2009 by combining two highly ranked programs – political science and public administration and policy – bringing them under a single roof. Located in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences, SGPP is one of the largest schools at the University of Arizona and is uniquely situated to serve as a new model for public affairs education by promoting high-caliber research, teaching, community outreach, and civic leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Instruct undergraduate students online in field of International Relations and Interstate/Intrastate armed conflict around the world.
  • Hold office hours.
  • Plan class lectures and assignments.
  • Grade papers and exams.
  • Assign projects.

Minimum Qualifications    

  • Master’s degree in related subject relevant to class assignment; OR, any equivalent combination of degrees, graduate-level education, professional certifications, teaching experience, and/or practical experience.
  • Candidates without a Master’s degree will need at least two years of practical experience

Preferred Qualifications    

  • Expertise in the area of International Relations and Interstate/Intrastate armed conflict around the world.
  • Prior teaching at collegiate level.
