The Research Assistant will assist in studies related infants and toddlers at risk for autism specturm disorders and language impairments or with Down syndrome. Activities include support for recruiting and screening participant families, conducting behavioral and electrophsyiological assessments of infants and toddlers, data coding, processing and analysis, and data entry. The project involves working with infants and young children some of whom are at risk for autism spectrum disorder or language delays or have Down syndrome. The project is funded by the National Institutes of Health. The position requires a great deal of sensitivity and experience in working with concerned families who have infants and toddlers. The research technician will be responsible for the recruiting, screening and scheduling of families, as well as assisting with diagnostic assessments, standardized testing and electrophsyiological testing of the infants and toddlers. The research technician will also ensure quality control of the data collection and entry. In addition, they will maintain the database for the project and assist in the analyses of data. A Bachelors degree in psychology or related field is required, along with strong organizational, interpersonal, and computer skills, experience working with infants and knowledge of child development. Expertise in research with infants, and preference for those with some experience with autism and other developmental disorders. Experience with eye tracking and/or EEG methods.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience required.
