Penn Engineering is seeking a Research Specialist in the Yim lab (https://www.modlabupenn.org/) . The Research Specialist will develop, design, execute and troubleshoots laboratory experiments and scientific procedures relating to assigned research project(s). Records, interprets and analyzes results using prescribed methods. Designs and fabricates mechanical and electrical systems. Develops programs that control electromechanical systems, as well as programs that models and analyzes designs. Assists senior-level research personnel with related duties as required.
Position is contingent on continued funding.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters degree preferred. Previous experience with CAD systems and microcontroller and signal conditioning equipment preferred. Experience with writing MATLAB code and technical reports highly desirable.
