The Doctor of Medicine (MD) is a School of Medicine flagship postgraduate program, which prepares highly able graduates for practice and further training as a medical practitioner. Entry to the MD program is highly competitive. The final two years of the four-year program are principally undertaken as facilitated experiential learning in clinical settings.

The opportunity

This position oversees the delivery of years 3 and 4 of the MD program at the Sunshine Coast under the leadership of the Deputy Head of School (Sunshine Coast). This position will focus on development and delivery of curriculum and assessment within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service geographical area and is supported by the Clinical Sub-Dean (Sunshine Coast), Associate Theme Leads (Sunshine Coast), as well as Clinical Leads in each discipline and an extended network of supervising clinicians. This position works with the Academic Lead (Years 3 and 4) and Deputy Head of School (Sunshine Coast) to ensure equivalence of student experience across sites.

This is a continuing, part time (50%) position based at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Sunshine Coast Health Institute, Birtinya.

About you

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to develop and implement curriculum and learning activities for the education of clinical years' medical students. As an academic in the School of Medicine the person appointed will also contribute to the broader mission of the School through scholarly and service activities as negotiated with their supervisor.

Salary range

Level C: $115,593.48 - $133,289.47 (full time, pro rata +30% clinical loading)

Level D: $139,183.48 - $153,337.85 (full time, pro rata +30% clinical loading)
