Lecturer in African Security and Leadership Studies

The African Leadership Centre (ALC), within the School of Global Affairs at King's College London, is seeking an outstanding candidate for a new Lectureship position. The Lecturer will contribute to the ongoing ALC research agenda, “Peace, Society and the State in Africa”, which re-interrogates the nature of the state in Africa and explores the lessons from governance models that work in African societies and their adaptability to the state in Africa. 

The Lecturer will form part of the core ALC faculty team teaching and delivering on the MSc Security, Leadership and Society and MSc Leadership and Development programmes, and supervising postgraduate students on the PhD programme in Leadership Studies with reference to Security and Development. The Lecturer will also be expected to work closely with, and travel regularly to, the ALC Nairobi centre in Kenya throughout the course of each year. 

This post will be offered as a full-time, permanent contract. 

The selection process will include a presentation and a panel interview, taking place on 8 July 2019. 

Grade and Salary :    Grade 6, £37,412 to £44,015 per annum, inclusive of £3,223 per annum London Allowance.
