The School of Education is seeking to appoint a full time Senior Lecturer/Reader who can demonstrate intellectual leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing complex educational questions posed by emerging global challenges. Examples of such global challenges include educational scholarship in areas relating to: climate change, population ageing, urbanisation and migration, mental health issues, democratic crises or dynamics of sociotechnical change, including artificial intelligence and automation.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage with and contribute to the intellectual life of the School. They will have an established international reputation for their research. We welcome applications from candidates who have interests that complement our existing research strengths. Candidates who can clearly articulate how their research and teaching interrelate are of particular interest to us, as are those who bring methodological innovation.

This is a key appointment and represents a fantastic opportunity to shape the development of our research environment and teaching and learning culture in the school. We are therefore looking for recent and relevant experience of research and teaching leadership.

The post is open ended, full time and available from 1 August 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.
