The University of Leeds is seeking to appoint an exceptional leader to be the next Executive Dean of Arts, Humanities and Cultures.  Established in 1904, the University is known world-wide for its teaching and research, its welcoming environment for staff and students, and for being an integral part of the city of Leeds and a leader in its creative industries.  

The Executive Dean serves as a member of the University Executive Group, which has responsibility for setting the strategic direction and delivering the strategic plan for the University. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the Executive Dean will provide visionary and strategic leadership to staff and students in the Faculty, enabling the delivery of an exceptional student experience, excellent research, innovation and impact and meaningful partnerships, nationally and internationally.  

Candidates will need to have significant experience as a leader operating at a strategic level, be capable of successfully engaging and inspiring academic leaders and professional services through the complexities of transformational change, and have a track record of delivering major programmes of work to successful completion. They will be recognised as a leader in their discipline and will be committed to promoting excellence in student education, research, and the Faculty’s international ambitions. The Executive Dean will be expected to continue raising the profile of the Faculty and University, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders.
