An exciting opportunity exists to join the University as the next Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) and play a leading role in ensuring that Griffith University becomes one of the most influential universities in Australia and the Asia–Pacific region. As a member of the Senior Executive team the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) will provide strategic, innovative and accountable leadership to ensure the University achieves its goals and performance targets in relation to research and research training and the delivery of world class innovation. The successful candidate will also ensure that the University is well positioned to respond strategically to new opportunities that will allow it to realise its research and innovation aspirations.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor will reflect, embody and promote Griffith University’s vision and values. We are searching for a candidate who will have the capacity to inspire others as a leader combined with an effective management style and proven capacity to work collaboratively with staff to bring about change. The successful candidate will have the ability to create a culture of innovation and collaboration locally and globally and a working environment characterised by transparent and consistent decision making. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are vital, including the ability to engage and form productive partnerships with government, industry and the community.

The incoming Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) must be a proven research leader who appreciates Griffith’s progress as a research-intensive university and who brings a vision for how to lift the University to even higher levels of research performance.
